Improve Your Technique
With Pilates, your technique is incredibly important. There are over 500 moves in Pilates, and they’re all meant to be done with control and precision. When you’re just starting out, you’ll need guidance to help you get the movement just right and implement the proper technique. Even if you’re an expert, there is always room for growth and improvement.
With Tempo, you can actually track and visualize your improvement over time. Tempo will track your progress and our expert coaches will provide you with individual feedback, showing you areas you can improve and how you can do better with each session.
Best of all, Tempo goes at your pace. You can push your limits or you can take it slow and easy. Either way, you’ll be getting the best possible at-home Pilates workout.
Strengthen Your Core with Expert Feedback
One of the biggest benefits of Pilates is its effects on the core. The focus on flexibility, posture, and balance all work in tandem to help strengthen your core. Pilates is also low-impact, so it’s a great workout for almost everyone.
Our expert coaches will provide you feedback to make sure your form is well-balanced and that you have control. By using proper form during your Pilates workout, your core will get stronger without the risk of injury. As with most workouts, improper form can lead to impeding your progress at best and injury at worst. With Tempo, you’ll always know when your form is off and what you can do to make the change and improve it.
The Best Alternative to Zoom Classes
Zoom classes are a decent option for an at-home workout, but they’re missing a crucial component of in-person workouts – individual attention. While your Zoom instructor might be able to see you on screen, they won’t be able to make the micro-adjustments and suggestions that will actually help you perfect your form and improve.
Tempo uses an advanced 3D sensor that allows our trainers to see your form down to the smallest detail and see if you’re doing anything wrong. They’ll give you real-time feedback so you can make the adjustment and get the most out of your workout.
Tempo offers both live sessions and on-demand classes, so you can always workout on your schedule.
Master the 6 Guiding Principles
When Joseph Pilates developed his methodology in the 1920s, he based it on six guiding principles – centering, concentration, control, precision, breath, and flow. Our expert coaches will ensure that these principles are at the forefront of your Pilates workouts. Let’s take a quick look at what each of these principles means:
➤ Centering - Centering involves focusing on your body’s center. This is where the core strengthening comes in, as you need to be able to engage and relax your core to properly do a Pilates movement.
➤ Concentration - Pilates is more than physical exercise. You also need to be mindful during Pilates and concentrate on your movements, being aware of how your body is moving and what parts are engaged. To get the most out of Pilates, you must be present.
➤ Control - The control principle applies to both the body and mind. When you’re properly engaged with a Pilates workout, you are deliberately controlling your muscle movements and are aware of the intentions behind those movements.
➤ Precision - With Pilates, you must precisely move your body into the movement shapes and perfect your technique to gain maximum benefit. Everything should be in the right place and your form should be on point.
➤ Breath - Proper breathing is important for every exercise and Pilates specifically incorporates it into its core principles. During Pilates, your movements are coordinated with full breaths that give your body the oxygen it needs to maintain control, precision, concentration, and centering.
➤ Flow - Finally we come to flow. Pilates workouts should feel fluid and flowing. When you improve your Pilates technique, you’ll be able to more easily flow into the movements and forms that make up the methodology.
As you progress through your at-home Tempo Pilates workouts, you’ll also improve your ability to follow the six guiding principles
